چکیده

In this study, we investigated the effects of additional ultraviolet radiation (UV) on main growth fluorescent lamp light pigment content and essential oil accumulation in sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum L.). Three different UV sources from light-emitting diodes discharge lamps, which emit UV-A (315–400 nm), UV-B (280–315 nm) UV-C (100–280 ranges, were tested for plant growing. The plants, growing under mercury 60th day higher than control plants by 90% 53%, respectively. fresh leaf mass irradiated was 2.4-fold mass. dry mass/fresh ratio 45% 35% comparison to plants. Leaf area increased 40% 20%, affected anthocyanin most strongly, they 50%, whereas only 27% 0% UV-B. Any addition did not affect total contents but altered compositions. linalool proportion 10% 25%, respectively, contrast UV-C, reduced it 3%. induced eugenol methyl ether (17%) inhibited growth. Moreover, α-guaiene, β-cubebene α-bulnesene decreased sabinene fenchone. Thus, concluded that (except UV-C) used jointly with PPFD 120 ± 10 μmol photons·m−2·s−1 cultivation may be justified stimulate optimize accumulation.

Improvement in Flavonoids and Phenolic Acids Production and Pharmaceutical Quality of Sweet Basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) by Ultraviolet-B Irradiation.

Sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum Linnaeus) is aromatic herb that has been utilized in traditional medicine. To improve the phytochemical constituents and pharmaceutical quality of sweet basil leaves, ultraviolet (UV)-B irradiation at different intensities (2.30, 3.60, and 4.80 W/m²) and durations (4, 6, 8, and 10-h) was applied at the post-harvest stage. Total flavonoid content (TFC) and total phe...
